Key responsibilities include:
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dish machines or by hand.
- Ensure all items are properly dried and stored in designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing area, including sinks, dish machines, and storage areas.
- Dispose of trash and recycling according to company procedures; replace liners as needed.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors; clean drains and mats as directed.
- Assist with basic cleaning tasks such as wiping counters, cleaning equipment exteriors, and organizing supplies.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper chemical use and safe handling of equipment.
- Monitor dish machine temperatures and chemical levels to ensure proper sanitization.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or shortages of supplies to the supervisor.
- Assist kitchen staff with light prep or other tasks as requested (e.g., unloading deliveries, organizing storage).
- Adhere to company policies, uniform standards, and health and safety regulations.
