Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Floor Layer to join our construction team. This entry level position offers hands on training in flooring installation, tile laying, and related carpentry skills. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail oriented, and committed to developing a strong foundation in flooring craftsmanship. This role provides valuable experience working alongside seasoned professionals on diverse projects, contributing to the successful completion of residential and commercial flooring installations.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation and layout of flooring materials according to blueprints and project specifications
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and install various flooring materials such as tile and vinyl plank
- Support the team in floor preparation tasks including subfloor leveling and surface cleaning
- Learn proper techniques for tile laying, caulking, and finishing edges for a polished look
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Follow safety protocols at all times during project execution
Skills
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction practices
- Familiarity with flooring installation processes including tile laying and carpentry techniques
- Experience or interest in handyman work or general construction is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills
- Good physical stamina for lifting, bending, and working on-site for extended periods
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team

Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour
