Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Glass Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass in residential, commercial, and restoration projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on various job sites. Experience with hand tools, blueprint reading, and schematics is highly valued to ensure precise installation and adherence to project specifications.
Duties
- Measure, cut, and install glass panels accurately according to project plans and schematics
- Use hand tools such as saws, drills, and caulking guns to complete installations
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine specifications and installation procedures
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, framing, or repairing existing structures before glass installation
- Seal and caulk glass units to ensure weatherproofing and durability
- Assist with restoration projects involving glass repair or replacement in historical or damaged buildings
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all phases of installation
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
Requirements
- Proven experience with hand tools, construction, carpentry, and blueprint reading
- Knowledge of schematics, caulking techniques, restoration processes, and construction painting is preferred
- Familiarity with plumbing, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, or other related trades is a plus
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship in all aspects of glass installation
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights safely
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality standards
- Valid <PERSON> (or equivalent) certification/license if applicable
- Prior experience in construction or restoration projects highly desirable
