Job Description: Private Home Housekeeper & Household Manager (Proactive/Self-Directed)

Schedule: 5 hours daily, Monday – Friday (Flexible start time; must be completed by 5:30 PM)
About the Role
We are seeking an exceptionally observant and highly proactive individual to manage the daily maintenance and operations of our private Cabbagetown home.
We are looking for someone who acts as a "problem solver" rather than just an "order taker." The ideal candidate will anticipate household needs, identify issues before they become problems, and take the initiative to implement solutions without needing to be prompted. Our home is a health-conscious, allergen-sensitive space; therefore, the use of strictly natural, organic, and homemade cleaning solutions is a non-negotiable requirement.
Key Responsibilities
Proactive Home Management
- Anticipatory Care: Proactively identify and resolve household issues (e.g., recognizing a maintenance need, noticing supply shortages, or identifying organizational improvements) and handle them autonomously.
- Natural Cleaning: Maintain a pristine home using only natural, organic, or homemade cleaning agents. You will be responsible for researching, preparing, and maintaining your own stock of homemade dishwasher detergent, laundry soap, and multi-surface cleaners.
- Culinary & Grocery: Manage household grocery needs with a focus on organic/allergen-friendly ingredients. Prepare healthy, fresh meals, keeping the kitchen and pantry organized and well-stocked.
Property Maintenance & Coordination
- Operations: Manage waste disposal (curbside collection), light gardening, and snow removal using organic, non-toxic methods.
- Trade Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact to schedule and supervise tradespeople, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard without daily oversight.
- Logistics: Receive and secure packages, manage household inventory, and handle errands efficiently.
Requirements
- Self-Starter Mentality: A demonstrated history of managing a household or workspace with minimal direction. You see what needs to be done and do it.
- Commitment to Non-Toxic Living: Strong expertise or a willingness to master the creation of natural cleaning supplies. Must be strictly fragrance-free (no scented perfumes, colognes, or body products) while on-site to accommodate severe allergies.
- Professionalism & Discretion: Prior experience in private service, household management, or a similar high-responsibility role.
- Pet-Friendly: Must be comfortable and loving toward our two cats.
- Reliability: Excellent time-management skills; you consistently manage your 5-hour daily window to ensure the home is pristine by 5:30 PM.
- Security & References: Must be willing to undergo a comprehensive background check. Candidates must provide at least two verifiable professional references from previous employers.
Compensation & Benefits
