Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations within our logistics and supply chain network. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing freight movement, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication across multiple departments. Duties
- Schedule and dispatch freight shipments using transportation management system such as fleet manager.
- Utilize GIS and GPS tools to optimize routing and ensure efficient delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams to facilitate shipping & receiving processes.
- knowledge of trucking route, lanes and freights rates.
- Monitor fleet management activities, including vehicle maintenance and compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate effectively via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and professional communication skills.
- Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Manage freight documentation, shipping schedules, and related logistics paperwork efficiently.
Requirements
- Proficiency in load boards and logistics software (e.g., DAT, load links)
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or load booking
- searching for high paying loads that match drivers routes and equipment's.
- Ability to manage multiple loads and deadlines simultaneously
- Negotiating rates with brokers and shippers to maximize profits.
- coordinating with drivers regarding pickup and delivery schedules.
- Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles.
- Familiarity with supply chain processes, logistics operations, and fleet management practices.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data for decision-making purposes.
- Proficiency in data entry, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems.
- Knowledge of 3PL operations and shipping regulations is preferred.
- Strong communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette to interact effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This Dispatcher role is integral to maintaining smooth transportation operations within our organization, requiring a proactive approach combined with technical expertise in logistics software and communication tools.
