What You'll Do:
Be the Face of the Food Bank:
- Greet clients, volunteers, and visitors with a warm smile and positive attitude.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and messages confidently, guiding people to the info they need.
- Keep the front area looking fresh, welcoming, and organized.
Lead Our Amazing Volunteers:
- Find and recruit volunteers to join our food bank team.
- Organize engaging training sessions to help volunteers feel ready and excited for their roles.
- Create schedules that ensure all shifts are covered, from food sorting to helping clients.
- Be the go-to support for volunteers while they’re on-site, helping them do their best work.
- Track volunteer hours and celebrate their contributions with recognition and appreciation.
Collaborate & Communicate:
- Work with our food bank team to ensure volunteers are positioned where they’re needed most.
- Keep everyone in the loop, volunteers, staff, and community partners, so tasks and goals are clear.
- Maintain updates on our website and social media about volunteer opportunities and special events.
Stay on Top of Admin Tasks:
- Handle data entry, keep records updated, and assist with reports that show the impact our volunteers make.
- Support special events or projects that come our way, which may include occasional evenings or weekends.
Who You Are:
- Friendly, approachable, and love working with people from all walks of life.
- Organized with great attention to detail.
- A strong communicator with a knack for multitasking.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suites, Canva, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) is beneficial.
- Passionate about giving back to the community and making a difference.
