Overview
London Hyperbaric, a newly established hyperbaric medicine clinic in London, Ontario, is seeking a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) to train as a Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT).
This is a unique opportunity for paramedics looking to apply their emergency assessment, patient monitoring, and critical thinking skills in a specialized clinical environment with regular daytime hours.
Working within a physician-led multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) while helping patients recover from complex wounds, radiation injuries, hearing loss, and other approved medical conditions. You will receive comprehensive on-site training, supervision, and employer-paid CHT certification, developing expertise in hyperbaric chamber operations, patient monitoring, emergency response, and protocol-driven care in this rapidly growing specialty.

Duties
· Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments.
· Assist with administering and monitoring HBOT in a safe, controlled clinical environment.
· Operate and maintain hyperbaric chamber equipment in accordance with established safety standards and protocols.
· Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, including emergency situations.
· Apply advanced patient assessment skills to identify potential risks before and during treatment.
· Maintain continuous situational awareness across multiple patients, chambers, and clinical activities.
· Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, hyperbaric technicians, and wound care professionals.
· Support safe, efficient, and coordinated patient care throughout the treatment day.
· Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and clinical observations.
· Complete Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) training within the designated timeframe (fully funded and supported by the employer).
Skills & Qualifications
· Current registration in good standing as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) in Ontario.
· Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) considered an asset.
· Experience in emergency medical services, emergency response, acute care, or critical care environments preferred.
· Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills.
· Demonstrated ability to recognize subtle changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and reassure patients.
· High level of situational awareness with the ability to safely monitor multiple patients and treatment environments simultaneously.
· Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective during emergency situations.
· Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced clinical setting.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
· Excellent documentation skills with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
· Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn specialized hyperbaric equipment and safety protocols.
· Commitment to completing Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) certification (training fully funded and provided on-site).

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
