Job Description:
ProVolve Power Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Services Journeyman Electrician / Power System Electrician to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on field service support for LV/MV/HV electrical systems, including power cable terminations, fiber terminations, electrical wiring, and construction activities. The successful candidate will also gain hands-on experience in HV maintenance and commissioning testing, with guidance and support from ProVolve.
Responsibilities:
- Perform LV/MV/HV power cable terminations.
- Perform fiber optic terminations.
- Carry out electrical wiring and installations for various construction projects.
- Assist in HV maintenance and commissioning testing, including equipment such as switchgear, transformers, and breakers.
- Operate testing and diagnostic equipment (e.g., meggers, hipot testers, CT analyzers, VLF units, Doble equipment).
- Conduct troubleshooting of electrical systems and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with electrical isolation and safe work procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all company and project safety protocols.
- Assist with job preparation, planning, and execution to meet project deadlines.
- Produce detailed and accurate test and maintenance reports.
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Electrician certification or Power System Electrician certification.
- Proficiency in LV/MV/HV electrical systems and fiber optic terminations.
- 5+ years of relevant electrical field experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to travel and work flexible schedules, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Western Canada (up to 80%).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
