This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional looking to build a long-term career in FP&A, business finance, and analytics. Working alongside senior finance and business leaders, the successful candidate will gain exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, business performance analysis, and data-driven decision-making while developing strong technical and commercial finance skills.
Principal tasks and responsibilities include:
- Utilize SQL to extract, validate, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple systems
- Support monthly reporting, dashboards, KPI tracking, and management reporting activities
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes
- Analyze revenue, costs, profitability, productivity, and operational performance metrics
- Prepare variance analysis and provide commentary on key business drivers and trends
- Support the preparation of executive presentations, reporting packages, and financial analysis for leadership teams
- Work with finance and business stakeholders to answer ad hoc analytical requests and business questions
- Assist with financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business case development
- Maintain and enhance reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualization solutions
- Perform data validation and investigate reporting discrepancies to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Support reporting automation and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization
- Translate data into meaningful business insights and recommendations
- Participate in special projects focused on improving business performance and decision-making
Qualifications and pre-requisites:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, reporting, analytics, accounting, or a related role
- Strong SQL skills are required. Candidates should be comfortable writing queries and working with large datasets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in understanding business performance drivers
- Experience with Excel, Power BI, or other reporting and visualization tools would be considered an asset
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, or business analysis is preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work collaboratively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
- Eagerness to learn, develop new skills, and grow within a business finance environment
- Professional, curious, and proactive approach to problem-solving
