Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Projects to join our Mount Milligan Mine team.
The Manager, Projects is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of capital and sustaining projects at the Mount Milligan Mine site.
This role provides strategic leadership to multidisciplinary project teams and ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with operational priorities and long-term business objectives. The role is expected to foster a culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and innovation while supporting Mount Milligan’s long-term growth and reliability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead the development and execution of site capital, infrastructure, and sustaining projects from concept through commissioning.
- Manage project scope, cost, schedule, risk, quality, and resource allocation to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure projects are aligned with operational requirements and strategic business priorities.
- Oversee contractor performance, engineering consultants, and vendor relationships.
- Support the development of annual and long-range capital project plans.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all project activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
- Promote environmental stewardship and compliance throughout all phases of project execution.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner closely with mine operations, processing, maintenance, technical services, supply chain, and leadership teams to ensure successful project integration.
- Provide regular updates and reporting to senior leadership on project progress, risks, and financial performance.
- Build strong working relationships with Indigenous communities, regulatory agencies, contractors, and service providers as required.
Financial & Contract Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow tracking, and cost controls.
- Support procurement strategies, contract development, tender evaluations, and contractor negotiations.
- Identify opportunities to optimize project delivery, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop project team members and site project personnel.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and high-performance team culture.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, project governance standards, and operational excellence practices.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skillset and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation considered an asset.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management designation is an asset.
- 8–12+ years of progressive project management experience within mining, processing, heavy industrial, or resource sectors.
- Demonstrated success managing medium- to large-scale capital projects in active operating environments.
- Experience in mine site infrastructure, processing plants, mobile equipment, tailings, or operational improvement projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of project controls, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contractor management.

Working Conditions
- Camp-based role working 12-hour days on a 7 day on, 7 day off rotation, or 4 day on, 3 day off rotation, with accommodation provided during rotation.
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
- PPE always required.
- Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
- Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
