This position works within the Brief Community Treatment & Specialized Services providing support primarily to adult clients and has potential for working with clients across the lifespan. This role includes or may include individual work (screening, crisis intervention, assessment, case formulation, direct counselling, consultation, case management, and referrals), group facilitation, and active collaboration with inter-disciplinary colleagues. The position may be required to work weekdays, with a mix of day shifts (8:00a.m.-4:15p.m.) and the possibility of some later shifts during the early evenings up until 7:15p.m. Although this position is primarily with Shared Mental Health Care, it will also be required to support any of the programs within the Brief Community Treatment and Specialized Services portfolio based on operational needs.
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Candidate must have authorization to perform Restricted Psychosocial Interventions. Previous experience providing psychotherapy to individuals struggling with complex mental health and addiction issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within a primary care setting. NVCI Training.
