Post-Construction Cleaner – Job Description
Job Title: Post-Construction Cleaner Cleaning / Janitorial Services
Job Summary
The Post-Construction Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and preparing residential buildings. This role ensures all units are clean, dust-free, and ready for occupancy or handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove construction dust, debris
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and sanitize floors and surfaces
- Clean walls, ceilings, baseboards, doors, and windows
- Remove stickers, paint splatter, caulking
- Deep clean kitchens, washrooms, cabinets, and fixtures
- Dust vents, light fixtures, ledges
- Use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and correctly
- Report hazards, damages, or unsafe conditions to supervisor
- Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and WCB/WorkSafeBC guidelines
- Ensure the site is clean and ready for inspection, occupancy, or turnover
Qualifications
- Previous cleaning or post-construction cleaning experience preferred
- Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and cleaning products
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Standing, bending, kneeling
- Repetitive cleaning tasks and manual labour
- Ability to work on ladders when required and safely authorized
Safety Responsibilities
- Wear PPE (gloves, safety glasses, masks/respirators, steel-toe boots as required)
- Follow site orientation and hazard communication procedures
- Report injuries, incidents, or hazards immediately
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Burnaby, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Post construction Cleaning : 2 years (required)
