Powder Coater - Industrial Metal Fabrication
Location: Oldcastle, ON
Pay: $19.00-$26.00 per hour
Schedule: Day Shift, Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday overtime

Our client, an established custom metal fabrication company in Oldcastle, is looking for a Powder Coater to join its production team.
This is a hands-on industrial coating position involving much more than spraying finished parts. The successful candidate will be involved in surface preparation, powder application, oven operation, inspection and quality control throughout the coating process.

- Has industrial powder coating, painting or related finishing experience
- Understands that proper surface preparation is critical to coating quality
- Is comfortable grinding, sanding, cleaning, power washing and masking parts
- Can work with paint guns, coating equipment and ovens
- Has a strong eye for finish quality, colour and surface defects
- Is comfortable working in a physical manufacturing environment
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare metal parts for powder coating
- Grind, sand, clean, power wash and mask components as required
- Apply powder coatings according to established processes
- Verify that products match paperwork and required colours
- Identify differences in colour, brightness and finish
- Inspect parts for damage or defects before continuing production
- Perform visual coating inspections
- Measure coating film thickness
- Confirm proper colour and texture against sample chips
- Operate coating equipment including paint guns, vacuums and ovens
- Bake parts at the required temperatures and within specified time limits
- Work with thermosetting resin coatings, washes and pretreatments
- Use tape measures, calipers and other measuring devices
- Maintain coating quality and consistency throughout production
- Safely load and unload parts and move product using carts
- Clean and maintain coating equipment and ovens
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Cross-train and assist other departments as required
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Industrial powder coating, painting or related finishing experience
- Experience with surface preparation including grinding, sanding and cleaning
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Experience using tape measures, calipers or similar measuring equipment
- Strong quality-control awareness
- Ability to read and correctly interpret prints
- Comfortable working with imperial measurements
- Ability to read and write English fluently
- Valid accredited forklift licence is an asset
Physical and Work Environment
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lb without assistance
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Regular repetitive bending, twisting, lifting and pivoting
- Indoor, semi-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment
- Potential exposure to coating products and chemicals with appropriate PPE provided
- CSA-approved safety footwear required
- Occasional Saturday overtime may be required
