Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and other machinery essential for various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to safety standards. The Excavator Operator will play a vital part in ensuring efficient project completion while maintaining a safe work environment.
Duties
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery including skid steers to perform excavation, grading, and site preparation tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Coordinate with project managers and team members to execute construction plans effectively.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on-site.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Support other construction operations such as paving, grading, or site cleanup as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating excavators.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Deere/Hitachi equipment or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of construction site safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to operate multiple types of machinery.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Prior experience in heavy construction projects such as acreage development, septic system and waterline excavation is advantageous.
