Unity Recruitments Inc. is currently seeking a skilled Metal Sheet Grinder for our client in Concord, Ontario. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for individuals with experience in metal fabrication and finishing. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, experience using hand and power grinding tools, and the ability to produce high-quality finished metal products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Grind, smooth, and finish sheet metal components using hand grinders, belt sanders, and other finishing equipment.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, weld marks, and surface imperfections from metal parts.
- Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and production specifications.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and surface finishes.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of grinding equipment.
- Safely handle and move metal materials and completed products.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in metal grinding, deburring, polishing, or metal fabrication.
- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, or mild steel sheet metal is an asset.
- Ability to safely operate grinders, sanders, and other metal-finishing equipment.
- Ability to read measuring tools and follow technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
