PAINT/COATINGS SPECIALIST
Reporting indirectly to the Coatings Supervisor and directly to the Shop Manager, the Paint/Coatings Specialist is accountable for the following responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination of paint/coating activities with the office and shop crews to ensure timely and on-budget completion of projects
- Receive clarification and direction on issues that may arise from coatings projects, keeping careful records of communications and changes
- Assist with developing a plan for coatings projects when requested
- Assist leadership with purchasing requirements to ensure required consumables and coating materials are available and obtained
- Assist leadership team and crew to maintain a daily and weekly working schedule
- Support and report daily coatings projects assigned
- Assist in the development and training of shop crew for all coatings activities
- Able to identify and resolve discrepancies and issues with project drawings
- Properly prioritize time and coatings project requirements based on complex variables including clients’ expectations to timelines and availability of workforce
- Follow standard operating procedures and offer constructive ways to improve processes
- Be a team player and excellent communicator
- Have a clear, concise knowledge of Nemx's coatings capabilities
- Work with honesty and integrity towards Nemx and clients alike
- Remain current with industry coating trends and technologies
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of paint and coatings preparation experience in a paint and coatings processing environment
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Willing to occasionally work on the road
- Achieve top quality results following oral and/or printed work instructions
- Perform his/her duties in a safety-driven environment
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
- Highly competent with both verbal and written English communication skills
- Shine with a “pursue excellence” attitude and are a quality-driven professional
- A go-getter, self-starter and possess initiative in abundance
- Demonstrates effective leadership and mentoring abilities
