Maintenance Worker

Position Summary:
The Holiday Inn Sydney Waterfront is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining the overall condition of the hotel, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-kept environment for our guests and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel
- Maintain HVAC systems including AC units, pumps, and mechanical components
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled
- Conduct repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall (taping, filling, insulating)
- Painting and wall vinyl application
- Maintain hotel pool and related equipment
- Ensure guest rooms and public areas are in excellent condition
- Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests
- Perform outdoor maintenance, including:
- Snow removal and salting during winter months
- Lawn care, landscaping, and general grounds upkeep during summer
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in building maintenance
- Experience in preventive maintenance programs is considered an asset
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repair work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Strong communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to deliver friendly, professional guest service
Work Schedule:
- Must be available to work shift work, including evenings, weekends and holidays

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
