Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator / Estimator to support our construction team. The successful candidate will assist with estimating, tender preparation, project coordination, documentation, procurement, and communication between clients, subcontractors, suppliers, supervisors, and internal team members.This role is well suited for someone who is organized, proactive, comfortable reading construction documents, and interested in growing within the masonry construction and restoration industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, site conditions, and project requirements.
- Quantity takeoffs for masonry construction and restoration projects.
- Prepare estimates, budgets, pricing summaries, and tender submissions.
- Source pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Assist with preparing proposals, change order pricing, purchase orders, and project documentation.
- Support project managers and supervisors with planning, scheduling, and coordinating masonry construction projects.
- Track project progress, including milestones, deadlines, budgets, change orders, and outstanding items.
- Identify and report potential discrepancies, conflicts, delays, or cost impacts.
- Coordinate communication between clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, supervisors, and internal team members.
- Arrange and confirm project meetings, prepare agendas, and take meeting minutes when required.
- Assist with procurement of materials, tools, and equipment required for projects.
- Help manage supplier orders, deliveries, inventory, and related documentation.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for estimates, tenders, project documents, contracts, schedules, reports, and correspondence.
- Support compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Provide general administrative and project support, including data entry, scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in civil engineering technology, architectural technology, construction management, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in estimating, project coordination, construction administration, or a related role is preferred.
- Experience in masonry, restoration, general contracting, or the construction industry is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, tender documents, and construction details.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable working with numbers, measurements, budgets, and pricing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with estimating or project management software is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of construction processes, terminology, sequencing, and documentation is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence is considered an asset.
