Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cannabis Cultivation Labourer to join our team in Staples , ON. This role involves supporting the daily operations of our cultivation facility, ensuring healthy plant growth, and maintaining optimal growing conditions. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, detail-oriented, and passionate about horticulture and sustainable cultivation practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, pruning, and harvesting cannabis plants to promote healthy growth
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and water distribution
- Perform routine maintenance of cultivation equipment and tools, including hand tools and mechanical devices
- Monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light levels to optimize plant health
- Apply horticultural techniques including pest control, fertilization, and soil management
- Conduct regular inspections of plants for signs of disease or deficiencies
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to plant containers, soil bags, or harvest materials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the cultivation area to meet safety and quality standards
- Support team members in various gardening and cultivation activities as needed
- must be able to pass a police clearance
- no grade 12 required
Experience
- Prior experience in horticulture, gardening, or cannabis cultivation is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and basic mechanical skills are advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools and their proper use in a cultivation setting is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- A strong interest in sustainable agriculture and plant care is highly valued
- Previous experience working in a greenhouse an asset
- Languages an asset - Vietnamese, Thai, Mandarina, Philipino, French, Spanish
