Bilingual Registered Plans Administrator

Environment: Hybrid - Must be able to go to the office 1 to 3 times per week

Shifts: Eastern Standard Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm or 8:00 am 4:00 pm - 30-minute lunch
Salary: Up to $56,000 + 5% Bonus

The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Bilingual Registered Plans Administrator to join our Operations Team.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Registered Plans the Bilingual Registered Plans Administrator is responsible for the processing of requests for registered plan products within the IIROC and MFDA platforms.
Responsibilities:
At a high level this role processes transactions for Registered Plans Accounts
Primary accountabilities - process transactions for Reg Plans following the rules and regulations of CRA & support various products of the Reg Plans suite.
- The administration of registered plan products and processing of requests such as de-registration, un-locking, specialized withdrawals, etc.
- Ensure that registrations, contributions, and withdrawals meet the regulatory deadlines for RESPs, RSPs, TFSAs, RIF accounts, etc.
- Investigate, respond, and resolve all registered plan related inquiries within SLA deadlines, escalating any issues that require management review and intervention
- Completion of MFDA and IIROC Registered Plan audits within internal and regulatory deadlines
- Working closely with Tax, Estates, Transfers, New Accounts and Client Account Maintenance for any updates required to registered plans
- Actively participate in Registered Plan Committee Meetings to ensure that trustee and regulatory changes are implemented into procedures and manuals, ensuring they are updated and current
- Remain current on CRA, RQ, HRSDC and trustee regulations through the review of legislation, press releases, and industry information bulletins
Day to Day:
- Processing withdrawals from client’s accounts
- Processing internal transfers
- Processing pension type requests
- Reviewing account set up documents
- Assisting with audits
- Maintaining internal reporting and police the integrity of the system
- Assisting with inquiries from advisors
- Email boxes (call centre), or other internal departments
Qualifications:
Your experience and skills:
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the financial industry, preferably in Operations or Registered Plans
- Experience working with various Registered Plans, e.g. RRSP, RDSP, RESP, RIF, TFSA, etc.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Pro-active problem-solving abilities with strong analytical skills
- Outstanding customer service focus
- Extremely detail oriented and accurate with a focus on quality assurance
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Knowledge and experience of Dataphile is an asset
- Excellent communication skills. Fluency (written and spoken) in English and French is required to effectively communicate with partners, clients, and colleagues across Canada
