Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Skilled Laborer to join our construction team. This role involves performing a variety of hands-on tasks across different phases of construction projects, requiring a strong understanding of building techniques and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience with blueprint reading, hand and power tools, and various construction disciplines. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including concrete forming, masonry, carpentry, and restoration work, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship and project success.
Duties
- Interpret and follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute project tasks accurately
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently
- Assist with concrete forming, finishing, and placement to ensure structural integrity
- Install cabinets, flooring, tiles, and perform construction painting and caulking for interior and exterior projects
- Conduct masonry work including bricklaying and concrete work as required
- Perform plumbing and electrical tasks in accordance with safety standards and project specifications
- Use construction estimating skills to assist in project planning and material management
- Operate heavy equipment for excavation, lifting, or material transport as needed
- Support restoration projects by repairing or refurbishing existing structures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or related trades with knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, masonry equipment, welding equipment, and heavy machinery operation
- Skilled in carpentry, concrete finishing, tile laying, flooring installation, plumbing, electrical work, or masonry is preferred
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction estimates
- Strong understanding of safety procedures on construction sites
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to perform demanding manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working at heights or in confined spaces
- Valid <PERSON> certification or relevant licensing is a plus but not mandatory
