This is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership, sharpens processes, and produces financial information others can rely on. You'll work directly with management, own the day-to-day books across our divisions, and take on more responsibility as the company grows. It is a senior role, not an entry-level or training position.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle accounting across multiple retail and operating divisions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, POS and e-commerce sales channels, and inventory each month.
- Complete inter-company reconciliations across divisions, including CAD/USD accounts.
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable, keeping vendor and customer accounts current.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations, supporting schedules, and the year-end file for review.
- Support product and inventory costing for our manufacturing operations.
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reporting.
- Prepare and file GST/PST remittances.
- Maintain organized, accurate, audit-ready records.
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting procedures, controls, and efficiencies.
- Support management with financial reporting and special projects.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Proven ability to run month-end close with minimal supervision.
- Strong QuickBooks proficiency (Enterprise preferred) or comparable software.
- Advanced Excel — pivot tables, lookups, and multi-tab reconciliations.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage competing priorities without letting accuracy slip.
Preferred Qualifications (strong assets)
- Retail, inventory, or manufacturing accounting.
- Multi-location or multi-entity experience.
- Payroll processing and GST/PST reporting.
- Accounting diploma or post-secondary accounting education.
