Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Wheel Loader/Excavator Operator to join our construction team. This role involves operating heavy equipment to support various construction projects, including paving, grading, and excavation tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and experience working with Caterpillar machinery. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction experience to contribute to large-scale projects while honing their skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate wheel loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and backhoes safely and efficiently on construction sites
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and paving activities as needed
- Load and unload materials using appropriate machinery
- Follow safety protocols and identify potential hazards around equipment and work zones
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Maintain accurate records of equipment use and maintenance activities
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and backhoes
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic repairs or maintenance
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment and other heavy machinery brands
- Ability to operate specialized equipment for horizontal drilling or paving projects is a plus
- Commercial driving experience preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Physical ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy loads and working in various weather conditions
This position is essential for the successful completion of construction projects requiring precise operation of heavy equipment. Candidates should be committed to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning in the field of heavy equipment operation.
Pay: $30.00-$42.00 per hour
Work Location: On the road
