Job Summary:
The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service while managing food and beverage orders, preparing and serving drinks, and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests. This role combines both serving guests in a restaurant setting and bartending duties, offering flexibility and variety in daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet guests promptly and warmly. Answer questions regarding menu items, specials, and drink offerings. Ensure that guests have everything they need to have a pleasant dining or drinking experience.
- Order Management: Take customer orders for food and beverages and enter them into the system accurately. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
- Bartending: Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages based on customer preferences and standard recipes. Handle cash, credit card payments, and process tabs for drinks. Maintain knowledge of current drink trends and craft cocktails.
- Food Service: Deliver food and drinks to guests promptly, ensuring the presentation is appealing. Monitor food quality and appearance, returning to guests’ tables to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep workstations clean and organized, including the bar, dining areas, and service stations. Perform regular cleaning tasks such as wiping down tables, chairs, and counters, washing glassware, and keeping restrooms tidy.
- Teamwork: Work closely with kitchen staff, fellow servers, and bartenders to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant. Assist with other tasks as needed, such as setting up tables, restocking supplies, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working condition.
- Cash Handling: Handle payments accurately, provide change, and ensure that the cash register is balanced at the end of each shift.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, liquor laws, and other company policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or bar setting preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including alcoholic drinks, wine, and craft cocktails.
- Basic math skills to handle cash and calculate tips.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift trays, and carry heavy items.
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
