SorbaraLAW is seeking to add a family law lawyer to our team. This position is in-person at our office located in Markham, Ontario. SorbaraLAW is one of the largest and most respected full service regional law firms in Ontario. Our diverse team of skilled lawyers allows us to be responsive to our client’s constantly changing needs. The firm offers a very competitive salary and benefits package. We are seeking a lawyer with a minimum of 5+ years of demonstrated work experience in family law.
Successful candidates must demonstrate the following:
- Thorough knowledge of DivorceMate, the Family Law Rules, and applicable legislation (Divorce Act, Family Law Act, Children’s Law Reform Act, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in drafting pleadings, affidavits, factums, briefs, financial statements, domestic contracts, etc.
- Strong legal research skills, coupled with excellent organizational skills
- Past courtroom experience, i.e., attendance at conferences and/or motions
- Be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
