Use your nursing expertise to help shape healthier futures across the province. Primary Care Alberta (PCA) is seeking a passionate and community minded Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Public Health Nursing team. Reporting to the Public Health Area Manager, the Public Health Nurse (PHN) will lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs and initiatives—including advocacy, community engagement, health education, and skill building—to strengthen wellness for patients, families, groups and populations across Alberta. Your work will span maternal, infant, child, and adult health promotion; immunization delivery for all age groups, including seasonal influenza; communicable disease prevention, surveillance, and follow up; and comprehensive health assessments with anticipatory guidance, preventative screening, and referrals. You will play a key role in identifying and addressing social determinants of health affecting diverse, including vulnerable and marginalized, populations while maintaining high-quality documentation aligned with Alberta Health Services policies and the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta Standards of Practice. If you thrive in a collaborative, community focused environment where your leadership directly enhances population health, PCA offers an inspiring opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, [COMPANY] currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of PCA. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour.
