AvantDerm is a unique and innovative dermatology clinic located in Toronto’s Distillery District. As the first clinic in Canada to offer patients with a referral a daily walk-in option, we pride ourselves on delivering comprehensive dermatology services, including medical, cosmetic, and clinical trial treatments. We are expanding our dynamic nursing team and are seeking a part-time/flex confident, skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join us.
We are looking for a creative, assertive, goal-driven, and energetic nurse with a passion for dermatology. The ideal candidate will have exceptional people skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a dedication to providing innovative, top-tier care to our medical and cosmetic patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Medical
- Perform physical examinations and dermatological procedures such as cryotherapy, injections, wart treatments, laser therapy, skin biopsies, electrocautery, and specimen collection (skin, hair, nails, wound, viral).
- Assist physician during procedures such as excisions, shave electrodessication and curettage, biopsies, skin tag removal and cosmetic procedures.
- Provide counselling on preventative healthcare topics, such as skin cancers, atopic dermatitis, acne and phototherapy just to name a few.
- Educate patients about psoriasis and other conditions and administer phototherapy treatments.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Familiarity with dermatology and a strong interest in this field.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver friendly, efficient patient care in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office.
- Ability to learn and navigate an electronic medical record system.
