About Us
Mad River Golf Club is a friendly, family focused club located between Stayner and Creemore. Consistently ranked amongst the top 50 golf courses in Canada, and celebrating our 35th anniversary in 2026. Our grounds department is seeking a part time, seasonal gardener to care for aproximately 10,000sqft of gardens around the clubhouse and on the course.
About the role
- Spring clean up of garden beds, contribute to planning and ordering annuals for planting
- Use hand tools and power tools for planting, trimming, and landscape modifications
- Ensure proper watering schedules for establishment of new plantings and maintaining existing plant health
- Perform routine landscape maintenance including some mowing, edging, and mulching
- Inspect plants for pests or diseases and take appropriate action to manage issues
- Communicate with managers to share your ideas, highlight any resources or support required
- Keep outdoor areas clean and free of debris to uphold aesthetic standards
About you
- Experience with gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance preferred but not required. At-home gardening enthusiasts are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools such as shovels, pruners, rakes, and hoes
- Ability to operate power tools safely including trimmers, blowers, and lawnmowers
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions and lift moderate loads
- Enthusiasm for gardens and our natural environment!
Schedule
- 3 days a week, 8.5 hours a day
- Typical shift is 6am-2:30pm, start and end time will change with sunrise
- Start date is ASAP and contract will go until October, weather dependent
