Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team at a high-volume family entertainment and hospitality venue. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and food safety.
The Chef will oversee daily kitchen operations, prepare high-quality meals, manage inventory, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed to maintain stock.
- Minimize food waste through proper portioning and inventory management.
- Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff.
- Create daily specials and contribute ideas for menu development.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless guest service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Assist with scheduling and managing kitchen staff during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant, hospitality, or entertainment venue.
- Culinary diploma or equivalent experience is considered an asset.
- Valid Food Handler Certificate (required or willingness to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with banquet, catering, or event food preparation.
- Knowledge of inventory control and food cost management.
- Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team.
- Experience preparing a variety of cuisines.
- Understanding of dietary restrictions and allergy management.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks including chopping, lifting, and food preparation.
