Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Auto Body Technician to join our team in North York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing and restoring damaged vehicle bodies to manufacturer and industry standards. You will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for quality workmanship by ensuring every vehicle is repaired safely, accurately, and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess vehicle damage caused by collisions, dents, rust, and other structural or cosmetic issues.
- Repair or replace damaged body panels, bumpers, fenders, doors, and other vehicle components.
- Perform metal finishing, dent removal, panel alignment, and frame straightening as required.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and measuring systems to complete repairs.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding, filling, and masking damaged areas.
- Conduct welding and structural repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Ensure all repairs meet quality control standards and manufacturer requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used.
- Communicate effectively with estimators, management, and customers regarding repair progress and completion timelines.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as an Auto Body Technician in a collision repair or body shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body construction, repair techniques, and collision repair procedures.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and frame measuring systems.
- Experience repairing and replacing body panels, structural components, and vehicle assemblies.
- Ability to safely perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks.
- Must possess a complete set of personal tools.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and manufacturer repair guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality repairs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
