Full-time Acting Teacher Consultant – Six Nations Advisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will work closely with the Superintendent of Education and System Principal Leader /Lead responsible for Indigenous Education initiatives.
The successful candidate will also:
- Provide advice regarding the significance and inclusion of Haudenosaunee values and traditions as they pertain to district initiatives.
- Support and attend meetings, presentations, and professional development at schools and at the district level.
- Participate in the development, review, and implementation of curricula, programs, and services to support students.
- Lead transition work to support events and opportunities to enhance student experiences
- Administer the activities of the Grand Erie Native Six Nations Advisory Committee (SNAC)
- Responsible for Six Nations Education Agreement report and provide an annual presentation to Six Nations Elected Council.
- Support and collaboration with Six Nations Education Counsellors
- Other duties as assigned
- Travel, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ontario College of Teachers' Certificate of Qualification and qualified to teach in the Intermediate and/or Senior divisions, in accordance with Ministry of Education.
- Specialist certification in an appropriate curriculum area.
- Preference will be given to those who have a minimum of 5 years recent permanent teaching experience in a classroom.
- Previous leadership experience (school or system based) would be an asset.
- Haudenosaunee ancestry required.
- Knowledge of the Six Nations community and educational syst em is preferred
- A willingness and ability to work closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, curriculum and assessment at the Junior, Intermediate and/or Senior levels.
- A willingness to work beyond the normal working hours (in-service, Board meetings, etc.) as required.

Job Specifications
Hours of Work 1.0 FTE Annually
Rate of Pay $57,408 - $120,054 Annually + $10,506 Consultant Allowance
(based on 1.0 FTE); salary grid rate is based on QECO rating and teaching experience; annual salary is prorated based on FTE; grid rate effective September 1, 2025.
