Communications Coordinator
Permanent, Full Time
ʔaq’am (Cranbrook, BC)
Who We Are: Ktunaxa Kinbasket Child & Family Services (KKCFSS) is a non-profit Child, Youth and Family Delegated Aboriginal Agency governed by a Board of Directors represented by ʔakisqnuk, ʔaqam, yaqan nuʔkiy (Lower Kootenay Band), yaqit ʔa·knuqⱡiʾit (Tobacco Plains Band), Shuswap Band and the Metis Nation BC. KKCFSS programs and services are available to Ktunaxa citizens, First Nations, Métis and Inuit living on and off-reserve in Ktunaxa ʔamakʔis (Traditional Territory).
KKCFSS believes in a holistic approach to providing services with some fundamental beliefs:
- Healthy communities make healthy children.
- Children are the future of our, and all, nations.
- Children have the right to a safe, secure and culturally appropriate family and community experience.
- Children have the right to grow up connected to their family, community and culture.
- Families have the right to culturally relevant services.
Living and Working in ʔaq’am: Cranbrook serves as the regional center of the East Kootenays and offers a balance of community connection and access to the outdoors. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, and lakes, the area provides year-round opportunities for hiking, skiing, fishing, paddling, and exploring the natural beauty of southeastern British Columbia.
As the largest city in the region, Cranbrook provides a range of amenities including healthcare services, schools, recreation facilities, and a vibrant local community, while still maintaining the welcoming feel of a smaller center. For those seeking meaningful work alongside an exceptional quality of life, the area offers the opportunity to build both career and community.
