Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Helper/Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in supporting food preparation, ensuring food safety, and providing excellent service to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, experience in food handling, and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen environment.
Duties
- Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Support cooking activities, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients
- Handle food safely and maintain proper hygiene practices during all stages of food handling
- Serve food to customers or assist in serving meals in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Follow food safety regulations and ensure compliance with health standards
- Support inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying management of stock needs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly attitude towards customers and team members
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting tasks
