- This is a full-time opportunity for a junior Mold Maker to work at a busy mold manufacturing facility.
- Manufacture new molds and maintenance on plastic injection molds and hot runner manifolds
- Fabricate mold inserts, fixture and tooling with or without engineering prints and 3-D CAD molds using milling, turning, grinding, CNC sodic EDM .
- Fits and assembles parts and tests completed molds for proper operation.
- Support production team members to ensure proper quality output and safe operations
- Verifies conformance of repaired injection molds or related tooling to specification by checking dimension, clearances and alignments using various test equipment, consistently working to close tolerances.
- Must be comfortable to operate overhead crane to remove and/or relocate molds to specific workstations/areas.
- Must be providing technical support to the engineering department to meet the requirement.
- Works cooperatively and communicates with manufacturing.
- Good at methodic machining of mold components and logic decision making
- Meet deadlines and work to tight tolerances in a fast-paced environment.
- Are accurate, self-motivated, and a team player
Qualifications:
We welcome junior mold maker to join us. In this case, we will provide all necessary training to the junior mold maker and supporting him/her to grow into the senior position. For the junior, we welcome candidates with a minimum mold making experience (0-2 years). We are looking for a college degree or license in Mold Making, Mold Maker Appreticeship or General Machining Apprenticeship. The candidate needs to be able to read drawings and understand tolerance and GD&T. Salary will depend on experience.
For experienced mold makers, we are looking for the following qualifications:
Licensed Mold Makers
- Licensed Mold Maker
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mold making and injection molding field in the tool room environments
- Must be able to operate all common tool room machinery in a safe and productive manner.
- Use of CAD/CAM systems and computer systems are an asset.
- Must be able to provide technical knowledge on mold repairs.
- Must be able to provide technical knowledge on mold repairs.
- Must possess good problem-solving skills and independent decision making
- Must be familiar with Preventative Maintenance systems, and experience with mold master hot runner system.
