Forsythe Lubrication is a privately owned, family company that has been manufacturing industrial and automotive fluids and lubricants in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada since 1911.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify any issues or potential problems
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and building systems
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks based on urgency
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed using various tools and equipment
- Supervise and coordinate outside contractors for larger repair projects
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment
Experience:
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Experience with welding and fabrication techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and external contractors
