Link Technical Arc Services is looking for a motivated Co-op Student with an electronics background to join our team. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone studying electronics, electrical engineering technology, mechatronics, industrial electrical, or a related program who wants real-world experience working with welding machines, power electronics, and industrial equipment.
The student will assist our technicians with troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and documenting work on welding machines and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist technicians with inspection and testing of welding machines
- Help diagnose basic electronic and electrical faults
- Support repair work on circuit boards, wiring, connectors, switches, contactors, fans, and control components
- Use basic testing tools such as multimeters and other electrical test equipment
- Help with machine cleaning, setup, teardown, and preparation for repair
- Assist with calibration support and documentation
- Take photos and record repair notes in the system
- Organize parts, tools, and work areas
- Learn safe shop practices when working around electrical and welding equipment
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an electronics, electrical, mechatronics, or related technical program
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits and components
- Comfortable using a multimeter
- Ability to read basic wiring diagrams or circuit diagrams is an asset
- Interest in hands-on repair and troubleshooting
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, willing to learn, and able to follow instructions
- Previous experience with soldering, circuit boards, motors, generators, or industrial equipment is an asset
- Knowledge of welding machines is not required, but is a strong bonus
