ECE / Early Years Resource Creator – Culture Kit Program

The Early Years Resource Creator – Culture Kit Program will:
- Create educational resources for the program
- Collaborate with Elders, resource people, Cultural Educators and Knowledge Keepers to create written and manipulative materials and resources
- Design and create books, lesson plans and other written documents
- Source materials and resources
- Collaborate with the culture program team to provide trainings and workshops
- Create and adapt Indigenous resources reflective of the First Nations peoples of B.C.
- Work with the culture program team to create kits for distribution throughout B.C.
- Facilitate activities for children in the classroom
Skills and Experience:
- ECE, or Knowledge of early childhood development and experience
- Experience working with children an asset
- Creative, resourceful and able to turn ideas into resources for the culture kits
- Computer skills in WORD. Skills in Adobe and/or Publisher an asset
- Artistic ability and creativity. Crafting skills in various areas beneficial
- Awareness of First Nation cultures
- Able to research and source information
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Physically able to lift 50 lb totes
Requirements:
- Able to travel for research, consultations, workshops and trainings
- Able to present activities in classrooms when needed
- Valid drivers license and use of own vehicle required
- Criminal record check completed upon hiring
Compensation:
- Full time 35 hrs a week
- $30.00 - $32.00 an hour to start plus benefits
- 15 paid sick days a year, paid staff development
