Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Lead Client Engagements: Manage a variety of assurance and tax files including compilations, reviews, and corporate returns, while ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and Support Team Members: Provide hands-on training and feedback to junior staff, contributing to a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Client Relationship Management: Build strong, ongoing relationships with clients and act as a key point of contact, offering practical and strategic financial insights.
- Tax Planning & Compliance: Prepare and review corporate and personal tax returns, and support clients with small business tax planning.
- File Review & Quality Control: Ensure engagement files meet professional standards and internal quality expectations.
Senior Accountant Qualifications:
- CPA designation in good standing (required)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Canadian accounting
- Strong understanding of ASPE, and experience preparing/reviewing T1, T2, and T4 filings
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff and review files with attention to detail
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and client management skills
