Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated French Tutor (On-Call) to provide evening 6pm to 9pm Thursdays and Fridays on-campus support for students eager to improve their language skills. This role offers flexible, on-demand tutoring sessions designed to foster confidence and fluency in French. As a vital part of our educational team, you will create a positive learning environment, motivate learners, and help them achieve their language goals through engaging instruction. Duties
- Deliver group (3 to 15 students) French tutoring sessions to students in a classroom setting during evening hours
- Assess students’ language proficiency levels and tailor lessons accordingly
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance learning engagement and retention
- Support students with conversational practice, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and writing skills
- Maintain clear communication with students about their progress and areas for improvement
- Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that motivates learners of all ages and backgrounds
- Collaborate with other tutors and staff to ensure consistency in teaching quality and student support
Qualifications
- Fluency in French, with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills
- Proficiency in English; additional languages such as Mandarin, Spanish, or Japanese are a plus
- Prior experience working with 18-25 year old students in educational or tutoring settings
- Demonstrated classroom experience or tutoring experience in language instruction
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to develop engaging lesson plans
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with diverse learners and adapt to individual needs
- Ability to work flexible evening hours on campus; reliable transportation is preferred
