Our manufacturing client in Cambridge, ON is seeking a detail-oriented
Senior Financial & Costing Analyst to join their team on a
7-month contract basis until the end of February 2027. If you are a self-starter with
strong manufacturing costing experience,
excellent Excel skills, and the confidence to engage with senior leadership, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to make an immediate impact.
This role offers the chance to maintain critical operations within a dynamic environment as the company prepares for a major system implementation. You’ll play a key role in ensuring continuity and stability during a transitional period, working independently and applying your expertise to real-world challenges.

Responsibilities:
- Lead Operations Finance team with inventory management, production reporting, and standard costing calculations for existing and future products.
- Actively engage with Operations to understand spending trends and discover cost reductions.
- Develop and update various monthly financial reports, analyses, and other complex accounting activities for various entities, in accordance with accounting principles, IFRS, ERP, and standards that control the organization's financial resources.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while driving efficiencies into existing reporting processes.
- Complete, review, and analyze account reconciliations in a timely manner (monthly, quarterly, annually).
- Provide technical accounting advice to assist in developing reports including Business Intelligence (BI) and corporate performance management (CPM) reporting.
- Evaluate and make recommendations to improve the efficiency and controls within the financial departments.
- Complete back-up/reconciliations for external auditors and assist external and government auditors in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist other departments with analysis to support business decisions, including analysis of Power BI reports, as well as developing new reports and tracking projects in process.
Qualifications:
- Very strong manufacturing costing experience is a MUST
- Excellent Excel skills with an emphasis on advanced level skills
- Proven ability as a self-starter, comfortable working autonomously with minimal handholding
- Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing with senior leaders
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, work independently, problem solve, and recommend resolutions
- Experience with business ERP Systems; Microsoft AX is an asset
