Primary Purpose of Position:
The Dispatcher is an integral part of the Fleet & Logistics team and will be primarily responsible for executing and supporting the daily dispatch operations, coordinating driver schedules, and assisting with fleet and logistics administration across multiple regions. This will include providing support in a fast paced, high volume office environment and will assist in completing operational tasks all while proactively communicating effectively and accurately with drivers, foreman, site superintendents, and project teams as required. This position is also responsible for managing all truck drivers including daily work assignments, performance management, recruitment and coaching.
Job Duties
- Assist in developing and executing the daily dispatch plan to ensure timely and accurate delivery of in/outbound loads.
- Schedule and coordinate drivers day-to-day, working closely with team members to optimize routes and resources.
- Respond to and log all incoming trucking/logistics calls with professionalism and urgency.
- Perform data entry across various platforms (B2W, Kissflow, Keystyle, Fleet GPS).
- Troubleshoot and resolve dispatch-related issues, offering process improvement suggestions to the management team.
- Provide administrative support to the dispatch and logistics team as required.
- Prepare and submit all necessary permits related to trucking and crane operations.
- Outsource required trucking and provide estimates for subcontracted/broker hauling.
- Manager driver concerns and issues.
- Communicate with project teams and shops on schedule.
- Provide drive tests with new drivers.
- Coordinate and provide (when required) driver training.
- Complete trip permits.
- Review and approve timesheets.
- Assist with logistics operations across North America (PDI USA, GCD, PDI West).
- Participate on rotation in project planning meetings such as turnover or project launch sessions as required.
- Assist with procurement by providing information regarding trucks, trailers, and equipment for require quotes.
- Flexibility to take on related duties that may arise in support of evolving business needs.
- Discuss and resolve any dispatch related issues with the ability to provide business/process improvements.
