Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Flat Deck Class One Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating flatbed trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently across various locations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining safety standards.
Duties
- Safely operate flat deck trucks for the transportation of freight across designated routes.
- Secure loads properly using appropriate tie-downs and safety equipment to prevent shifting during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight, utilizing forklift or other heavy equipment as needed.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting to address minor vehicle issues and ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery status
Qualifications
- Valid Class One Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating flatbed trucks and freight hauling in a commercial setting.
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various conditions.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to freight transportation and heavy equipment use.
- Excellent communication skills for coordination with team members and dispatchers.
- Physical ability to load, unload, and secure freight, including lifting heavy loads when necessary.
Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
