Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our busy food service environment. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring food safety and quality standards, managing cash handling and POS transactions, and maintaining a positive team atmosphere. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality service
- Lead and motivate team members, providing guidance on food preparation, cooking, and customer interactions
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety and compliance with health regulations
- Manage cash handling processes, including POS transactions using Micros POS systems
- Monitor food safety standards and ensure adherence to sanitation protocols
- Assist with interviewing and training new staff members to build a competent team
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction
- Support kitchen staff with food preparation when necessary, including cooking and serving
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work environment in accordance with safety standards
- Ensure compliance with all restaurant policies, procedures, and hospitality industry best practices
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant management, or hospitality roles; supervising or team management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS; cash handling experience required
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience in interviewing, training staff, and managing restaurant operations is highly desirable
- Previous hotel or barista experience is a plus but not required
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
