Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience to join our Vancouver team representing non-professional clients with filed litigation complaints against insurers. The ideal candidate is organized, client-focused, and comfortable supporting lawyers in civil litigation practice. Hybrid work from home opportunity available after training period.
Responsibilities
- Draft, format, proofread, and revise correspondence, pleadings, and litigation documents.
- Prepare and file court documents, maintain litigation calendars, and manage deadlines.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files with accuracy and discretion.
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, discoveries, and trial-related schedules.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, registries, and third parties.
- Assist lawyers with file preparation, document production, and administrative support.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of civil litigation legal assistant experience.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court filing requirements, and legal document preparation.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice software.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, and maintaining attention to detail.
- Professional, dependable, and client-service oriented.
