Part-Time Piano Teacher
(Flexible Hours | Richmond)
We are a growing home-based piano studio seeking passionate and reliable part-time piano teachers to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for musicians and educators who enjoy working with children and are interested in developing their teaching and pedagogy skills in a supportive studio environment.
About the Role
Teachers will work with students ranging from beginner to advanced levels, helping them build strong musical foundations while fostering confidence and enjoyment in learning piano.
Flexible scheduling is available, with teaching hours ranging from approximately 3–30 hours per week depending on availability and student demand.
Typical Teaching Hours
- Monday–Friday: 3:30 PM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and structured piano lessons for students of varying ages and skill levels
- Prepare students for RCM examinations, recitals, and performances where appropriate
- Develop lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and goals
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and disciplined learning environment
- Track attendance and maintain basic lesson notes/progress updates
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
- Minimum RCM Level 10 certification (or equivalent)
- Strong interest in piano pedagogy and music education
- Experience teaching beginner through advanced students
- Comfortable working with young children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, organized, and professional demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- ARCT, music degree, or ongoing post-secondary music studies
- Previous experience preparing students for RCM exams and performances
- Experience teaching both children and adult learners
Compensation
Compensation will be competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and teaching load.
