About Bank & Baron
Located in a historic former bank on Stephen Avenue, Bank & Baron is one of downtown Calgary’s most distinctive restaurant and event venues.
We serve everything from casual lunches and busy dinner services to large corporate functions and private events. We are looking for an experienced Line Cook who works well under pressure, takes pride in consistency, and wants to contribute to a growing kitchen team.
The Role
As a Line Cook, you will prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and service expectations. You will work closely with the culinary team to deliver accurate, high-quality food during both regular restaurant service and large events.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards
- Set up, stock, and maintain assigned kitchen stations
- Complete daily food preparation and production tasks
- Maintain consistent portioning, presentation, and food quality
- Communicate clearly with cooks, chefs, servers, and managers
- Manage multiple orders efficiently during high-volume service
- Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures
- Monitor product quality and communicate low-stock or preparation needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation
- Assist with receiving, storage, cleaning, and closing duties
- Reduce waste through proper preparation, rotation, and product handling
- Support private events, group bookings, and banquet-style service when required
Qualifications
- Previous line-cook or professional kitchen experience is required
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation
- Reliable, punctual, and able to arrive prepared for scheduled shifts
- Able to follow recipes, directions, and established kitchen systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to remain organized and professional under pressure
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Able to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Legally entitled to work in Canada and able to commute to downtown Calgary
