Our in-house dental laboratory is equipped with advanced CAD/CAM systems, allowing us to provide same-day and high-quality restorative solutions for our patients. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Dental Lab Technician who is passionate about digital dentistry and enjoys working with cutting-edge technology.
Position Summary
The Dental Lab Technician will be responsible for designing, milling, finishing, and fabricating a variety of dental restorations and appliances using our digital workflow. The ideal candidate has experience with CAD/CAM design, milling systems, and dental materials, and takes pride in producing precise, esthetic, and functional restorations.
Responsibilities
- Design and fabricate:
- Crowns and bridges
- Night guards
- Essix retainers
- Sports guards
- Design restorations using 3Shape Dental System and other digital CAD software.
- Operate and maintain CAD/CAM milling equipment, including:
- Planmeca milling systems
- Midas milling system
- SprintRay technology
- Process and manage digital impressions from:
- 3Shape scanners
- iTero scanners
- Finish, characterize, stain, glaze, and polish restorations as required.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy, fit, and esthetics.
- Maintain milling equipment and laboratory materials according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with dentists and clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient outcomes.
- Stay current with advancements in digital dentistry and laboratory techniques.
Qualifications
- Dental Laboratory Technician certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience with CAD/CAM digital dentistry.
- Proficiency with 3Shape Dental System or similar CAD software.
- Experience designing crowns, bridges, and removable appliances.
- Experience operating milling systems (Planmeca, Midas, SprintRay experience is an asset).
- Familiarity with iTero digital workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a clinical team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with same-day dentistry workflows.
- Knowledge of zirconia, lithium disilicate, PMMA, and other restorative materials.
- Experience with digital smile design and implant restorations is an asset.
- Experience with 3D printing and post-processing is considered an asset.
