Job Summary
Millen Farms is seeking a skilled and motivated Agriculture Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles and farm machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Diagnose and repair various farm machinery, including a variety of trucks (1/2 ton, ¾ ton), tractors, wheel-loaders, vans, straight trucks, excavators, forklifts, transport trucks, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, and fluid checks to maximize equipment lifespan
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, hand tools, and power tools to meet specific operational needs
- Conduct hydraulic system repairs involving hoses, pumps, cylinders, and valves to ensure proper function of heavy equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including wiring harnesses, sensors, switches, and control modules using automotive diagnostics tools
- Maintain service records for repairs performed and ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards
Experience & Skills
- Proven mechanic experience working with farm machinery or industrial equipment
- Red Seal certification preferred (but not required)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical systems
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom modifications or repairs
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely on job sites
- Experience in automotive diagnostics combined with mechanical knowledge for comprehensive troubleshooting of complex machinery
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and maintenance equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety standards; capable of heavy lifting and performing tire services when necessary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00-$42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
