Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and familiarity with dental office operations to ensure smooth daily operations. Prior experience with dental software and office management is highly valued.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and check them in upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records using systems such as Dentrix and Epic
- Prepare and organize patient files, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date
- Assist with billing procedures, including processing payments and explaining treatment costs to patients
- Coordinate appointment scheduling with the dental team, balancing patient needs and provider availability
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, faxing, scanning, and maintaining a clean front desk area
- Educate patients on office policies, procedures, and post-treatment instructions as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a medical/dental office environment is preferred
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) and office equipment such as multi-line phone systems
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and courtesy
- Prior administrative experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous
