Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations, primarily MIG welding, to fabricate and assemble metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge to ensure precision and safety in all tasks. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects including ductwork, structural components, and custom fabrications within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Perform MIG welding on various metal parts and assemblies according to blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints accurately
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and press brake machines to shape and prepare materials
- Rigging and positioning materials using cranes or forklifts as needed for welding or assembly
- Conduct quality checks using calipers and basic math skills to ensure dimensions meet specifications
- Assist with machining, assembly, and installation tasks as required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols
- Support fabrication of ductwork, structural steel, or other construction-related components
- Operate machinery such as plasma cutters, press brakes, or TIG welders when necessary
- Follow detailed schematics and technical instructions for complex fabrication projects
Qualifications
- Proven experience in MIG welding; TIG welding experience is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge with familiarity in rigging, machining, and blueprint reading
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and forklifts safely
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes
- Knowledge of schematics, assembly procedures, and manufacturing standards
- Construction or ductwork experience preferred; manufacturing background is advantageous
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Relevant certifications in welding (such as AWS certification) are highly desirable
